Nicholas Trevatt

Nicholas Trevatt - Brisbane Piano Teacher
Nicholas began his piano studies at the age of 6 with Beverly Read in New Zealand where he won many awards in piano competitions throughout the North Island.  At age 15 he moved to Brisbane where he continued his piano studies with Valerie Dickson, a piano lecturer at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Over this time he won many prizes in the various eisteddfods around Brisbane. Nicholas pursued full-time study at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music under Professor Natasha Vlassenko, graduating with the Diploma of Music in 1994, followed by the Bachelor of Music in 1996 and continuing in 1997 to undertake postgraduate studies in pianoforte performance. He was awarded both the Licentiate (L.T.C.L.) and Associate (A.T.C.L.) Performing Diplomas from Trinity College London. He has previously been a member on the board of the Music Teacher's Association of Queensland. Nicholas is a vibrant and inspiring teacher who draws on his own pianistic skills, musical passion and depth of teaching experience to inspire his students to connect with music in a positive and meaningful way.
Nicholas is also an instrumentalist specialist teacher at Redeemer Lutheran College.

Katrina Trevatt

Katrina Trevatt - Brisbane Piano Teacher
     

Katrina began learning the piano at the age of 5 with Jenny Bofinger and later with Valerie Dickson.     Throughout her childhood she regularly competed in eisteddfods around Brisbane and won numerous    prizes. At the age of 15, Katrina was awarded a scholarship to study at the Qld Conservatorium Music School. After leaving school, Katrina continued her piano studies under Stephen Savage and then Natasha Vlassenko, graduating with the Bachelor of Music Degree in 1996 from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. In 1997 she undertook postgraduate studies in pianoforte performance at the Conservatorium. Katrina also gained the Associate Diploma of Music (A.Mus.A.) from the Australian Music Examinations Board and enjoys collaborating with other musicians: she regularly accompanies students for AMEB instrumental exams, music extension concerts, performs as a piano duo with her husband, Nicholas, and has been the accompanist for many school and community choirs. Katrina has been teaching the piano for 30 years and is passionate about fostering a love of music and bringing out the full potential in her students, right from young beginners to Diploma level. Katrina is also an instrumental specialist teacher at Redeemer Lutheran College.



Isobelle Trevatt

                                                 
Music has always been a part of Isobelle’s life. From the young age of 3, she has learnt the piano under
the guidance of her parents, Katrina and Nicholas Trevatt. Isobelle has been awarded multiple high distinctions (A+) for her AMEB grade exams and she is currently preparing for her AMusA Diploma exam. She has regularly competed and won prizes in eisteddfods around Brisbane and highlights have been when she won the 4MBS Classic FM Prize at the Brisbane Eisteddfod and being placed in the prestigious Queensland Piano Competition . Isobelle also plays the violin and percussion and in her time as a student at Redeemer Lutheran College, she was an active member of the Kleinschmidt Quartet, Chamber Strings, Stage Band, Wind Orchestra, Redeemer Chorale and was the pianist for the musical, Hello Dolly! Isobelle excelled in both Music and Music Extension for her Year 12 ATAR, exiting with a perfect score of 100 for Music. While continuing her studies in both the science and music fields at uni in 2021, she joins our teaching team at Treviano Studio. With her kind and caring personality and love of working with young children, she is eager to guide her students on their musical journey at the piano.
