We believe that recording a student's playing is a
great idea for a few reasons.
- It gives the student a very different perspective of their playing
than what they usually hear and this is an effective way to self-critique.
- A recording session can be a great goal to work towards.
- Having a CD of your child's playing is a permament piece of memorabilia
that you and your future generations can enjoy.
- As a gift for family.
For a small $20 fee we can record, mix and create a music CD for
you that will last forever! We can even put the recordings on our website
in a student page so you can let your family and friends hear your
new album!
For external students a $40 fee applies.

Playing the piano and really listening to what sounds you are
making can be quite a difficult thing to do, especially for students.
So, sitting back and listening to a good quality recording of yourself
can
be a revealing
and sometimes surprising experience. It is true that often a performer
can be quite deceived in how they really sound until they gain the objective
position
of an
audience by listening to a recording. Through my own
personal experience I have found listening to my recordings can
highlight rhythmical and tonal uneveness, incorrect balance, tempo changes
and other
undesirable things.
We all know the value of having a goal to reach for in order to stay
motivated and moving forward. Having an official 'recording session' scheduled
in the future can help provide this sense of direction and achievement.
This is particularly true for those students
who don't participate in other events
such as exams or competitions but still want to have a milestone that
they can reflect on in the future.
When a student has reached a musical peak with their pieces
then it could be time to make a CD recording that will last forever.
Imagine in ten years
time being able
to enjoy an entire history of your child's musical creativity. In
the distant future when the student has grown up with their own children,
they will be able to share with them how they played as a child.

This is the first two movements of the Sonatina Op.36, No.1 by Clementi,
a very popular early grade piano piece. It is a MP3 sound file which
can be played on most Windows computers. It could take up to 10 minutes
to download on a slow connection.
Although we are by no means professionals in the field of sound
engerineering we have invested in some solid equipment to
insure that
we can create recordings which are of a quality far superior than
the typical home sound system.
In fact our preferred microphone is a quality Australian product
which recently won
the
Electronic
Musician Magazine Editors Choice award!
